Short Bio

Christian Wagner is a research associate and PhD candidate at the Chair of Logistics Management. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. During his studies he specialized in supply chain management, production engineering, management accounting and machine learning. He spent an exchange semester at Universitat de Barcelona (UB), Spain and participated in the Joint Entrepreneurship Summer School at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China. His master thesis focused on a more sustainable use of resources in a collaborative value creation network by introducing logistical quality control strategies. The goal of the thesis was to allocate the individual components of a product in such a way as to reduce the resulting predicted quality costs and thus, as it is beneficial for supplier and customer, contribute to an increase in supply chain collaboration.

Christian gained practical experience in sales at an automotive supplier in Spain, in project management within a multinational company delivering transportation solutions, in risk advisory in the area of financial risk and within a research project in collaboration with an automotive supplier in production engineering.

In his free time, Christian enjoys being in the outdoors for road biking, mountain biking, hiking, fishing or skiing. Now that he lives in Zurich, he is excited to discover the Swiss Alps.
