Maximilian Löffel is a research associate and PhD candidate at the Chair of Logistics Management since March 2020 and is associated with the Humanitarian Operations and Supply Chain Management (HumOSCM) Lab of the Chair.

Maximilian holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen) from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. In his master thesis, he examined German regions for public-private emergency cooperation (PPEC) in food supply (Title: “Attractiveness of Regions in Germany for Commercial and Emergency Food Logistics Locations”).

During his studies, Maximilian spent two semesters abroad. One at Chinese University of Hong Kong (2016) and one at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2018), both contributing to his studies while adding an international perspective. At his home university, Maximilian gave various tutorials, worked as a student researcher, and was especially active in the German and European associations for Industrial Engineers (VWI and ESTIEM).

Practical assignments lead Maximilian to the departments for Purchasing at Robert Bosch GmbH and for Innovation and Technology Management at a German automotive supplier. Before the end of his studies, Maximilian joined 4flow AG in supply chain consulting. Following his time there, he finalized his master studies with the thesis in a cooperation between KIT and 4flow.
