The Master of external pageAdvanced Studies in Humanitarian Logistics and Management (MASHLM) is a part-time executive program designed for humanitarian professionals who want to build capacity and enhance their careers. This year’s cohort includes managers from MSF, UNICEF, IOM, WHO, Islamic Relief Worldwide, the German Red Cross and ICRC, as well as the Swiss Armed Forces. The “Transportation Management” module presented basic theory, then reviewed how security, access, timeliness, the choice of modes, and design of a distribution network are integral features of a humanitarian supply chain. Students then applied their learnings to their business cases, and discussed a range of solutions which could help their organizations move goods and workers to crisis regions around the globe.
