Leonie Flückiger awarded the “REHAU Preis Wirtschaft 2020/2021"

The “REHAU Preis Wirtschaft 2020/2021” was awarded to Leonie Flückiger for her master thesis on blockchain projects in the luxury goods industry.

Leonie Flückiger presented her work at the 21st REHAU award ceremony virtually on the 30th November. In her presentation, Leonie Flückiger talked about her profile, the research question, and findings on how firms manage the digital-physical link in real-world blockchain projects. The jury awarded the novelty of her research and direct transfer from academia to industry.

Her research studied firms in the luxury goods industry using blockchain technology as well as their technology providers. Her findings address one of the biggest challenges in real-world blockchain projects and contribute to knowledge about blockchain in operations and supply chain management. In her presentation, she pointed out how blockchain adds value, added to the list of challenges when using blockchain technology for supply chain visibility, and provided explicit measures used to manage the digital-physical link.

The price is sponsored by REHAU and awarded to graduate students for their excellent master theses in business administration and management in the DACH region. The prize is endowed with CHF 10,000, divided among three award winners.

The master thesis at the Chair of Logistics Management was supervised by Maximilian Klöckner, Alexander Fink, and Prof. Dr. Stephan Wagner.
