More than 100 procurement professionals attended the procurement event 'Bringing Procurement Strategies to Life' at ETH Zurich. The event kicked off with a talk by Prof. Dr. Stephan Wagner on supply chain risks, with a particular focus on cybersecurity risks and data breaches in a supply chain environment. Karin Hagen-Gierer, CPO of Sandoz, then shared insights from a CPO's perspective on creating a culture that empowers procurement to align with business strategies. Next, Patrick Reiß, representing Deutsche Bahn, provided concrete examples of how procurement excellence can be effectively realized using an agile approach and well-defined workstreams. Finally, Drasko, CEO and founder of Cirtuo, explained how they use AI and extensive procurement expertise to translate category strategy into actionable steps, and Lukas Wawrla, co-founder of ETH spin-off external pageArchlet, closed the event by showing how defined initiatives can be implemented and how sourcing decisions are implemented in line with category strategies.
