Stanford University study: Prof. Dr. Stephan Wagner among the 0.27% top-ranked scientists in Business & Management

Based on an analysis of citations, the annual study led by Prof. Dr. John P.A. Ioannidis from Stanford University identified Prof. Dr. Stephan Wagner again as a top scholar in the field of Economics & Business for single year and career-long impact. Furthermore, the ranking put him among the 0.27% top-ranked scientists in Business & Management.

Prof. Dr. Stephan Wagner is again included in this annual external pageStanford University ranking of nearly eight million authors as one of the top-2% ranked scientists in the higher-level field of Economics & Business. The sub-field of Business & Management ranks Prof. Dr. Stephan Wagner among the 0.27% top-ranked scientists (up from 0,31% the year before) among more than 52.000 scientists.

Led by Prof. Dr. John P.A. Ioannidis from Stanford University, a team of scientists created a database of standardized citation metrics for both career-long and single year impact. Metrics with and without self-citations and ratio of citations to citing papers are given. The resulting analysis external page“October 2023 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” identified the top scholars among nearly eight million authors in 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. Prof. Dr. Stephan Wagner was identified among the top scholars in the scientific field of Economics & Business, and the sub-fields of Business & Management and Operations Research.

The D-MTEC hosts seven more professors among the top 2% in the 2023 ranking, namely Prof. Dr. Georg von Krogh, Prof. Dr. Peter Egger, Prof. Dr. Robert Finger, Prof. Dr. Gudela Grote and Prof. Dr. Volker Hoffmann (all in the field of Economics & Business), and Emeritus Prof. Dr. Didier Sornette and Prof. Dr. Frank Schweitzer (both in the field of Physics & Astronomy). This underlines the strong research orientation of the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics at ETH Zurich.
