Best Paper Award at Logistics Research Network (LRN) Conference for Prof. Wagner and Colleagues
For their study “Influence of Dependence on the Counterparty on Supplier Contract Acceptance”, a team with former members of the Chair of Logistics Management received the Best Paper Award at Logistics Research Network (LRN) Conference. The award was given at the 2025 LRN Conference in Muscat, Oman.

The study addresses the following research questions: How do suppliers respond to contracts offered by a buying firm? How is the supplier's response affected by counterparty dependence? To answer these questions, a contract acceptance model rooted in power dependence theory and Hirschman's relationship theory was developed. The model links the interdependence of a buying and supplying firm and explores a variety of contract acceptance options (ELVN responses). To test the model, we a unique and proprietary data set from the German automotive industry was created.
This study is a collaboration with former Chair of Logistics Management colleagues, namely Prof. Dr. Christoph Bode from the University of Mannheim and Prof. Dr. Moritz A. Peter from Pforzheim University.
