Prof. Wagner holds two research seminars at the University of Nairobi
Prof. Dr. Stephan Wagner gave two seminars for faculty members, doctoral students and researchers of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at the University of Nairobi, and laid the foundation for future collaboration.
On June 5th, researchers of the external page Faculty of Business Management Sciences at the external page University of Nairobi had the opportunity to listen to Prof. Wagner in two seminars.
The first seminar was entitled “Start-ups in the supply chain ecosystem: A research program” and discussed research that has shed light on different types of interactions between firms and start-ups and the capabilities that buying firms need to build to identify, select, and integrate start-up suppliers. It also highlighted the opportunities and challenges of publishing research at the interface of OM and entrepreneurship. Kenya is one of the top four external page start-up countries in Africa. Therefore, the topic is highly relevant to the country.
The second seminar was entitled “A brief tutorial on crafting and publishing management research” and discussed how to select appropriate journals for publication, the importance of integrating and building theory, research methods and rigour, and common causes of manuscript rejection. The intention is to have more papers from African scholars published in leading OSCM journals.
The seminars took place in the University of Nairobi Tower in down town Nairobi. The audience from the external page Department of Management Science and Project Planning and other departments was wonderful, highly engaged and asked many interesting and challenging questions.
