The NetloP Seminar (“Network Management of Logistical Processes”), initiated by the external pageKühne Foundation more than 15 years ago, and now administered by the external pageKühne Logistics University, attracts logistics and supply chain managers every year, and a visit to the Chair of Logistics Management at ETH Zurich has a long tradition. This year, managers from industrial and trade firms, such as AGCO, Boehringer Ingelheim, BSH Hausgeräte, Liebherr, Rehau, Rittal, Schaeffler, Tchibo or Würth, and logistics service firms such as Arvato Logistics Services, Bertschi, BLG, Imperial Chemical Logistics, Lufthansa Cargo or Swiss International Airlines discussed with Prof. Dr. Stephan M. Wagner, Dr. Christoph Schmidt and Bublu Thakur-Weigold topics around purchasing, supplier management, supplier Innovation and the use of Blockchain technology in supply chains.
A highlight were company visits to the Migros Verteilzentrum Suhr (MVS) to learn about retail distribution, and to Swiss WorldCargo at the Zurich Airport to learn about airfreight of valuables (i.e. high value cargo such as money or jewellery).
