Christian Wagner successfully defends his doctoral thesis
On April 30th, Christian Wagner successfully defended his doctoral thesis titled "Financial and Sustainability Performance in Complex Supply Networks." Congratulations Christian!
Christian’s dissertation investigates the financial performance implications of sustainability misconduct, in particular misconduct affecting factory workers, within global supply networks. He suggests that such incidents impact not only the firms causing the incident but spillover through the network, leading to significant financial performance implications at direct and indirect partners. The magnitude of these performance implications is influenced by firm-level factors and the structures of the supply networks. To proactively address these risks, he further proposes an approach to identify sustainability risks associated with hidden suppliers.
We congratulate Christian on his successful defense and are pleased to share that he stays at our chair, continuing in a new role as postdoctoral researcher.
