Dr. Bublu Thakur-Weigold joins a roundtable panel discussion of how to benefit from technology in humanitarian work at the 2022 Digital Festival in Zurich.
The Associate Director of our HumOSCM Lab, Dr. Bublu Thakur-Weigold, joined a roundtable panel discussion at Digital Festival Zurich together with fellow panelists Siddhartha Jha (Fondation Botnar), Dr. Thomas Lumpe (ETH Zurich), Dr. Michel Rochat (EPFL), Gene Saxon (EPFL), Muswagha Katya (EPFL), Dr. Greg Castella (EPFL), and Nathalie Morandini Siegrist (EPFL).
Drawing on experiences with projects like Engineering Humanitarian Aid (external page https://eha.swiss/) they shared their perspectives on:
- How to best use digital technologies in humanitarian and sustainability projects.
- How academic institutions can contribute technological and digital solutions to humanitarian interventions.
- How to adapt health technologies to harsh climates and challenging contexts.
- What kinds of innovations could address the problems of unequal access to health care.
- What are the challenges of implementing digital tools in low- and middle-income countries, and how these could be overcome.
